Air Quality Forecast for Greater Dayton Available

The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) and the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency (RAPCA) are excited to announce the availability of daily air quality forecasts for the Greater Dayton Region. Using the new EnviroFlash service, developed by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, residents can sign up to receive important air quality information such as daily forecasts and Air Pollution Advisory notifications via email or pager.

EnviroFlash gives you instant air quality information based on how you’ve customized it for your own needs. You can select various levels of notification – based on the forecasted Air Quality Index (AQI) – allowing you to adjust your lifestyle on unhealthy air quality days, when necessary. Residents can choose between the different air quality levels on the AQI (Good, Moderate, Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, Unhealthy, Very Unhealthy and Hazardous) and determine at what level you want to receive a notification. Estimated pollution concentrations for ground-level ozone and particle pollution are forecasted up to three days in advance.

Your local air quality affects how you live and breathe. Like the weather, it can change from day to day, or even hour to hour. Up-to-date information allows you to make decisions based on forecasted air quality. EnviroFlash forecasts come to you, notifying you about air quality - you don't have to go searching for it. To register for this free service, go to www.miamivalleyair.org, click on the EnviroFlash logo for information on how to register.
